TO FLOURISH: Concluding a two-year interim post as Director of Choral Activities at his alma mater Virginia State University, Patrick D. McCoy was recently hired for the position of Development and Communications Manager for the prestigious Washington Conservatory of Music, located in Glen Echo Park, Maryland. Additionally, he will also be at the helm of the NEW Washington Conservatory Community Chorus.

Well-respected particularly in the Washington, D.C. area for his coverage of the performing arts over last decade, Patrick has been given the opportunity to consolidate his efforts with Washington Conservatory of Music as the new member of its staff.
Washington Conservatory of Music is dedicated to fostering the joy of music and guiding students of all ages and skill levels to reach their personal musical potential. WCM was established as an independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit community music school in 1984. The school was first accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music Commission on Non-degree Granting Institutions in 1991.
Patrick holds a BM in Vocal Performance from Virginia State University where he recently served a two-year interim post as Director of Choral Activities and Instructor of Voice. During that time, he led the choir in several notable performances which included a concert tour of the Washington, D.C. area. He also holds a Master of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory. Currently, he enters his seventh year as Organist and Choirmaster at Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Beltsville, MD, accompanying all services on the organ and planning all musical aspects of worship.
